Our Club Captain Tony Gorman.
TONY GORMAN, who played hurling for County Armagh in Ireland before taking up golf, is the new captain at Huyton and Prescot. It seems a natural progression from hurling to golf even though the clubs are held differently,he says.
A qualified psychiatric nurse Tony went to London in 1970 to specialise in neuro medicine and neuro surgery. He moved to Liverpool to join the neuro unit at Walton before moving to Fazakerley. He is now manager at Tarporley Community Hospital.
He was a qualified soccer referee in the Rainhill and St Helens Leagues before beginning to play golf with work colleagues in Liverpool, playing at Beacon Park, Skelmersdale before joining Huyton and Prescot 10 years ago.
